After graduating from high school she attended college at Kings College in Charlotte, North Carolina.

She is a recent winner of the Solstice Literary Magazine Short Story Prize, and a finalist in the American Fiction Prize.

Her essay, And These Are The Good Times, was a Montaigne Medal finalist.

We are shocked and saddened to learn that her life has been taken much too soon.

And we would go to horse shows.

I tried to visit every June, but sometimes her job at Walmart and my conference meetings conflicted.
